Fair Fun

Megan had her first "real" clogging competition at a nearby fair this past weekend. I say "real" because she has really competed before, but this is the first competition after really completing lessons and joining the team. Before she was just using the steps and things that she has picked up . This picture of her was before her solo performance. She's wearing an outfit that Mom made for Rachel when she was younger. Cool, huh?

She did really well on her solo routine. She smiled and kept the beat most of the time. We were so proud of her!! After she got off stage, she said she was "all tingley". She was so cute about it. When they FINALLY announced the solo winners, she was tickled to death with herself! She was beyond thrilled to win a trophy!!!! She got 2nd place in the 1-9 yr old category.

Rachel did a really great job and won 1st place in her category... I think it was 19-12 yrs old. She danced so well that I wasn't surprised at all that she won 1st place!
Kaylee got up there (mom went with her) too. We were hoping that she would stomp around and perform like she does at home when any music is on, but she mostly just stood there. She got the trophy for the youngest dancer though... her daddy jokes that she's worth more now that she's an award-winning toddler!!
A random cute shot of Aunt Rachel and Kaylee...
Megan before her performance. Hey, doesn't her hair look cute (if I do say so myself)... in the car she said it felt "like plastic" because of all of the hairspray that I put on her. It DID stay put though!!
Her beginners team did well, but didn't place. They were competing against EVERYONE though, so that was no surprise. They did really well though. Here they are at the very end of their Funkytown (to Alvin and the Chipmunks version of that song) routine:

Nana did really well too... she clogged in the 50-100 age group and won 3rd place. The man who won 1st place was 87 yrd old and just had the clogging stage dedicated to him (or something like that) because of his "lifetime contributions", so who in the world could beat him this year?!? She did a great job though!
